I can say that WordPress is the most popular blog-based system of recent times. I prepared this article so that those looking for resources to install WordPress can access short, understandable information.

Many hosting companies allow their users to set up a WordPress site in almost 30 seconds with the Fantastico software in their management panels. Of course, not every hosting company has this opportunity, or there may be those who want to install it manually. To do this, you can easily install WordPress by following the guide below.

Installing WordPress Step by Step

Installing WordPress Step 1-Downloading WordPress

The first thing you need to do is to download the latest version wordpress files from WordPress Turkish Official Site to your computer. After extracting the downloaded rar file to any folder on your computer, you need to connect to your site with an ftp program (I recommend filezilla) and upload the files to your site.

Although the folder structure varies depending on the server, the main directory of your site is usually the public_html or httpdocs folders. If the place where you want to install WordPress is a folder, such as yourdomain.com/wordpress, you need to create this folder and add the files you downloaded to your computer into this folder.

If you want your WordPress site to appear directly when your site opens, you need to transfer all files to the public_html or httpdocs folder without creating a folder.

Installing WordPress Step2-Creating a Database

After logging in with the cPanel password given by the hosting company, you need to find the option to create a database within the panel. Then, you need to click on the “create a new database” link and name your database according to the language of the panel. Make a note of the name you wrote here, for example wpsitem, you will need it in the future steps.

Then, although it varies depending on the cpanel, you need to create a user for this database you created. You can do this by clicking “create a new user”. The username and password you write here should consist of combinations that are not easy to guess.

The last thing you need to do about the database is to assign the user you created to the database you created. To do this, you need to select the database from the database section in cpanel, determine and assign the user you created as the user.

Check all the options that appear while making the assignment. Thus, you authorize the user you assign to make changes to the database in the future.

Installing WordPress Step3-Installing

The hardest parts of the job are behind you, now all you have to do is connect the steps you just made to install WordPress. To perform this installation, it will be sufficient to open the folder where you put the WordPress files with a browser. For example, you enter yourdomain.com/wordpress or yourdomain.com if you installed it in the main directory.

On the screen that appears, they ask you to type the name, username and password of the database you created. What you need to pay attention to here is that you use the prefix of your domain name when writing the database and user name.

For example; Let’s say you named your database wpsitem. In order for the system to see this database, you must log in to cPanel as written. Assuming that your domain name is yourdomain.com, it is domainname_wpsitem

Similarly, assuming that you type admin for the username, if you do not write it as domain_admin when writing it to the WordPress installation, the system will give a connection error. It is recommended to write localhost as 99% in the database host section and leave the prefix section as it is.

Installing WordPress Step4-Last step fine settings

If you have passed the previous screen without any errors, the system will ask you for the title of your WordPress site and your admin e-mail address, which will be used in all your future transactions. After filling in these fields, your site is ready for use, enjoy 🙂
