CosmoEN

A custom WordPress theme for CosmoEN, the Turkish-language home of BBC programming, driving both the show catalogue and the daily TV schedule.

§ Problem

CosmoEN's audience arrives with two questions: what is on today, and what is this show about. A stock theme cannot answer both, and the daily schedule had become a table someone updated by hand every morning.

§ Approach

I modelled the show catalogue as WordPress content and the daily schedule as a separate time-based table, joining them on the programme identifier. The whole interface is coded in the custom theme, with no page builder.

§ Outcome
  • The schedule reads from one source instead of manual edits
  • Homepage
  • schedule and show detail share one design language
  • Every region is ACF-managed
  • with no page-builder dependency

The show catalogue is WordPress content: every production has its own page, category and artwork. The schedule lives in a separate time-based table and matches the catalogue on the programme identifier.

From the homepage slider to the schedule grid and the cast and trailer blocks on a show page, every region is managed through ACF. The schedule switches between days without a page reload, and age-rating warnings appear automatically on each card.

A bulk import flow handles content, so the catalogue is never keyed in by hand. The site currently carries 32 programmes across three categories.
