Moved the international IBIS conference series off its stock theme and page builder onto a standalone, pixel-identical WordPress theme.
Every IBIS conference leg goes live with its own agenda, speaker roster and registration form. The site ran on a purchased theme with a page builder on top, and content stayed locked inside the builder's format.
I wrote a standalone theme to replace both without disturbing the existing design, turning page-builder block structures into first-class templates inside the theme.
- Page-builder dependency removed entirely
- The design is pixel-identical to before the move
- A new conference leg fills a template instead of being rebuilt
Separate templates cover conference legs, agenda pages, speaker lists and partnership pages, with content fields managed through ACF.
Registration runs on multi-step forms with conditional fields and payment integration. Event ordering is adjustable by hand, so the running order can change as a date approaches.
The site now runs on a single theme, and design changes no longer depend on plugin updates. Because the look was preserved exactly, nothing changed for returning visitors.
