Hello, I am here with the fifth issue of my newsletter, which includes developments regarding WordPress and the software world. I will try to cover many topics such as WordPress Themes, WordPress Plugins, WordPress Hosting. Without further ado, I would like to start with our first news;

ChatGPT-4o Announced with New Features
I think I would be right if we say ChatGPT is the pioneer that integrated the Artificial Intelligence system into our lives. Unlike other alternatives, ChatGPT not only provides us with access to accurate information, documents and comments in almost most cases, but also has made many contributions that will make our developers’ lives easier. Many new features came with the recently announced GPT-4o version. I will not bore you by explaining the features of the latest version in this newsletter. You can access the details of the version here. I think the most important issue for us was speed. With the previous version, it could respond very late to the command you gave or the question you asked. In addition, this slowness could cause the system to give errors, especially in long answers, and could irritate people. The system is still very new, but I see that this issue has been solved with the tests I have done in a short time. The response time, which used to be 10-15 seconds, has decreased to 1-3 seconds, which is a great convenience for us.
Let’s get to the main reason why I brought this topic to the newsletter;
Artificial Intelligence Will Put Us Out of Business!
Let me give you a short answer, there is no such thing, friends. As I wrote on my Twitter account, pasting the code you copied from ChatGPT into your editor and running it does not make you a programmer! Regardless of the software language, you cannot work on any project or continue a project in the medium and long term without knowing the syntax and understanding the logic of the algorithm. The main reason for this is that, as in every software, the resulting product, called product, is live.
What do I mean? In other words, these products are alive, a request comes from the project owner, the system changes, an unthought-of point needs to be added, in short, I did it and it doesn’t work. Therefore, artificial intelligence is of course a great convenience, of course it speeds up our work and contributes to us, but if you do not read and understand the code on your screen, everything you produce will not be more than 3-5 Twitter likes with the titles “I made software without knowing how to code”. You’ll fail at the first problem. I would like to reiterate that I am definitely not against artificial intelligence and I think it is a turning point as important as the internet entering our world. The issue I am against is the way AI is explained and understood in our country.

Testing WordPress 6.6
WordPress is live with version 6.5.3 as of today, but developers are not idle and continue to work on WordPress 6.6. When you examine the details of Here, you can see that many innovations and updates are planned.
Preferred Language Option Comes to WordPress Core
We could change the language order of the system with the Preferred Languages plugin, which was published about 8 years ago. This plugin removed English from the first place and allowed your preferred language to be listed as an alternative. Realizing that this feature is an important and sought-after feature, WordPress developers are including this feature into the core system, as they announced Here. This feature, planned to be released with WordPress 6.6, seems very useful.
WordPress to Twitter Feature Comes to Flowmatic
FlowMattic is a very important automation system. It makes their jobs much easier, especially by automating the work done by managers of large teams. For example, when a form is filled out on your site, it automatically forwards this status to the relevant person in your team’s Slack session, and then the flow continues. With the feature they announced here, FlowMattic now allows the article you write or the product you add to be automatically shared on Twitter after connecting their systems to WordPress. Well, what’s wrong with this, you might ask? Especially after the unity of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, there are very few plugins in the WordPress pool that provide such automation. You can use them by delegating almost all the powers of your account. Yes, FlowMattic is a relatively expensive service, but considering the convenience it provides, I think it is worth the money.
WooCommerce Email Editing Feature Comes to MailMint
I would like to prepare a detailed article about this Funnel system, if I can find time, of course 🙂 MainMint is a very good system for the structure that can be translated as a Marketing Funnel and which I call the Titan system as an old-school one. With the system, you can set up an e-mail system where you can track detailed statistics, especially conversions regarding your products or services. Here With the new feature they announced, it allows you to easily change WooCommerce emails with the email builder they created.
Are Modern WordPress Themes Garbage?
I think the thing that worries me the most about WordPress is the Gutenberg editor. Of course, it is a great convenience for the end user, but to put it simply, it is like instant soup for a real developer and a big project. Yes, you taste tomato or tarhana, but it is definitely not the soup your mother made! David Bushell also examined the mess created by the Gutenberg editor and the 2024 (Twenty Twenty Four) theme prepared entirely with Gutenberg, and explained the problems he experienced here. In fact, even a single screenshot proves how much trouble this Gutenberg nonsense creates.
As you can see, the Classic Editor, the WordPress editor we know, has received approximately 6 million installations, and the Classic Component system has received nearly 3 million installations. So, do you think that all this installation may have been done in vain? Eeeeyy Matt Mullenweg come back this way, who are you! We love WordPress very much and we develop very comprehensive projects. Stop the blog mentality where you drink your coffee and share flower and insect posts! Finally, Gutenberg is garbage, anyone who claims otherwise is Gutenberg!
WordPress Admin Bar Editor Plugin
I think I don’t use the admin bar in almost any of my projects. I don’t know why, but when it is added to the top of the site that I expect to see, it seems like there is an error or a problem. I don’t know if I may need to explain this to my psychologist. Anyway, I found a nice add-on for those who like the admin bar. You can turn the bar on or off throughout the site and depending on user roles. However, it is also possible to make the bar more useful with numerous customizations. Sometimes, project owners obsessively want this Mega Menu. Personally, I think Mega Menus are a structure that is used only on the desktop and often creates confusion. I do not use it in most projects that we code specifically because I do not recommend it. When necessary, coding from scratch is the cleanest and lightest way, but if you must use a plug-in, this plug-in is quite sufficient even though it is old.
